Technicrete Takes 5 Awards

Housence again the quality and innovation of Concor Technicrete's range of products has been acknowledged at the prestigious CMA awards.

Several projects entered by the company in the CMA's biennial awards programme were acknowledged by the judges in their awards for excellence.

The Harrismith-Phuhaditjhaba road close to QwaQwa which was re-surfaced 10 years ago with 80 mm Double Zig Zag blocks won the National and Regional Award in the Vintage Section.

The Presidential Job Summit Housing project in Witbank was also awarded a National and Regional award for Community Housing. Fifteen million units of Technicrete's Diamond-Faced Maxi bricks were specified for this project - the largest of its kind currently under development in Mpumalanga province.

Honda Johannesburg South received a regional award in the Industrial section. This is a large commercial property development comprising a new service station, car wash facility, motor vehicle and tyre dealership. The area was paved with 60 and 80 mm Double Zig Zag blocks.

In the roads section, Cycads Estates in Polokwane won a regional award for access roads paved with Conleaf paving in charcoal and terracotta.

Technicrete's hollow blocks, designed to facilitate ventilation walls in mines, has been used by Entrepreneur Hilmarie Bam to produce a French Provencal look to her new country conference and wedding facility, La Petite Aubergé in Witbank. The project won a regional award in the Commercial and Community section.
