TWIN retaining walls not only provided an engineering solution for the creation of stepped parking areas on a steep slope – at the same time they added a strikingly attractive foreground feature for the new Spur steakhouse in Tzaneen.
It’s a colourful living feature designed to improve with time. To encourage the growth of plants and flowers in the retaining walls, Technicrete’s Concor Earthform blocks, which have recesses in which roots can naturally develop and strengthen, were selected.
The slope of the site necessitated the construction of two Concor Earthform retaining walls, each 2m high, to provide two separate parking levels in front of the restaurant.
